Family Hearing Center How to Guide for Facebook
Facebook is a free social internet site, which helps people stay in touch with family and friends. Also, Facebook allows its users to “like” businesses. Liking the Family Hearing Center on Facebook is a great way to join the conversation, get tips, and stay updated on our specials. The following is (1) how to Sign Up for Facebook and (2) how to like us on Facebook (scroll down for this second section):
1. How to Sign up for Facebook
a. Click here to go to the Facebook page. The following is a sample of what you will see. Fill in your name, email address, choose a password, and fill in any additional information. Then click the sign up button located at the bottom.
b. After you click the sign up button, you may be prompted to complete a Security Check, which is a simple way for Facebook to make sure you’re not a computer program trying to access their site. The following is a sample of what you may see. For the Security Check type in the words, letters, or symbols that you see.
c. Find your friends and family using you email address book. The following is a sample of what you will see. Click which email service you use (i.e. GMail, Yahoo, etc.). Then, type in your email address and click the button “Find Friends”. You will need to grant Facebook access to your email address book. Once, you grant access, Facebook will search your email addresses and find those people on Facebook. If matches are found, you will have the chance to add them as your friends by clicking the button “Add Friend.” ***This step may be skipped by clicking on the small “Skip this step” phrase at the bottom of the page. If you don’t want to grant Facebook access to your email address book, you may skip this step and still add friends later by searching for them yourself on Facebook.***
d. Enter in your Profile Information. The following is a sample of what you will see. Filling in this information helps you connect with friends from your high school, college, and work. ***This step may be skipped by clicking on the small “Skip” word at the bottom of the page, right next to the “Save and Continue” button. If you wish not to share this information now, you may always add it later.***
d. Add a picture of yourself. If you have a picture of yourself (or you with family/friends) saved on your computer, click the “Upload a Photo” phrase. A popup will show up asking you to “Browse” your computer for your picture. Click the “Browse” button and locate your picture (pictures are typically saved in the Pictures folder on your computer). Once you have the found the picture you want to add, double click on it. The Facebook will show you a preview of you picture. Click the “Save and Continue” button. ***This step may be clicked by clicking on the small “Skip” word at the bottom of the page, right next to the “Save and Continue” button. If you do not have a picture of yourself on the computer, you may add a picture later.***

2. How to Like the Family Hearing Center on Facebook
a. Login to your Facebook account. Click here to be taken to the Facebook page. The following is a sample of what you will see. If you are not already logged in, then enter your email address and password at the top of the page.
b. After you login, click on the search box at the top of the page. The following is a sample of what you may see and an arrow pointing to the search box. Type in Family Hearing Center and press enter.
c. Locate the Family Hearing Center in Huntsville, TX and click on our name or picture.
d. Once on our Facebook page, click the “Like” button at the top, near the Family Hearing Center name. The following is a sample of what you will see and an arrow pointing to the “Like” button.
e. If you are not automatically taken to our Welcome page with our coupon for a FREE ear cleaning, then click on the “Welcome” word on the left hand side of the page. You then should be able to see our coupon.
